Competition for the award for the most successful scientific or artistic research work

Textile-Science Research Centre (TSRC) announces the following:

COMPETITION

for the award for the most successful scientific or artistic research work in the field of textiles). The competition is divided into two separate categories:

1st Category: for young scientists/artists (doctoral or postdoctoral students) of the                      University of Zagreb Faculty of Textile Technology (age limit is 35)

2nd Category: for students of undergraduate/graduate studies of University of Zagreb, 
                     Faculty of Textile Technology.

One award in each category will be granted at Faculty Day in January 2015.

Submissions for entry forms should be sent until 3rd November 2014 to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Paper review will be performed by two independent reviewers, and upon this first stage evaluation, three international committee members will perform the final ranking within each category due to the Criteria list TSRC_Award_Critera_2014.doc.

The application must be enclosed with CV, list of publications and name of the journal where the author wishes to submit the paper. Papers should be written in English, on six pages in the attached form TSRC_Template.doc.

All papers will be published later in e-brochure of Textile Science Research Centre and additionally presented as poster at the Faculty Day 2015.

Emilija Zdraveva, junior researcher at the TTF, has carried the main research in the group of nanofibers at Deakin University, Australia

Emilija Zdraveva, junior researcher at the Department of Basic, Natural and Technical Sciences, joined Deakin University, Institute for Frontier Materials in Victoria, Australia, in the period from February to August 2013, to carry out part of her PhD thesis research. The Institute for Frontier Materials is situated at Geelong Campus of Deakin University. The Institute includes the Australian Future Fibers and Innovation Centre and the groups with research areas in: Computer Modelling, Corrosion Science, Electromaterials, Functional Nanomaterials, Metals and Light Metals, Micro and Nano Systems, Plasma and Polymers. Its main focus is in technology innovations and materials excellence.

Jacqueline Domjanić, B.Sc. - Dissertation Defence

Jacqueline Domjanić, assistant of the Deparment of Clothing Technology, has successfully defended her doctoral thesis on September 5, 2013 entitled: 3D Surface Models and Geometric Morphometric Analysis of Female Feet (3D površinski modeli i analiza ženskog stopala geometrijskom morfometrijom), in front of a committee by:

Assist. Prof. Vesna Marija Potočić Matković, Ph.D. University of Zagreb, Faculty of Textile Technology, Croatia

and chaired by Assist. Prof. Slavenka Petrak, Ph.D., University of Zagreb, Faculty of Textile Technology, Croatia

The dissertation is a result of the bilateral project between Croatia and Austria entitled "Athropometry under special consideration of life and early factors with an applied approach for the garment industry" which started in 2010. The basis of the study was set up by the compound technological project Croatian Anthropometric System (CAS) that was launched in 2004.

Novi ciklus znanstvenih projekata Hrvatske zaklade za znanost i programa Fonda "Jedinstvo uz pomoć znanja", UKF


U Ministarstvu znanosti, obrazovanja i sporta 18. rujna predstavljen je novi  ciklus natječaja znanstvenih projekata Hrvatske zaklade za znanost te programa Fonda „Jedinstvo uz pomoć znanja“ (Unity through Knowledge Fund – UKF).

Jedan od strateških ciljeva Vlade Republike Hrvatske za razdoblje 2011. - 2015. jest i promjena modela financiranja znanstvene djelatnosti s dosadašnjega modela državnog upravljanja na model državnog nadziranja sustava znanosti. Imajući u vidu ostvarivanje navedenoga cilja, projektno financiranje znanstvene djelatnosti izmjenama Zakona o Hrvatskoj zakladi za znanost prelazi u nadležnost Hrvatske zaklade za znanost.

Presentation of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) through scholarship programs for scientists and scientific projects

On Tuesday, 9th of July 2013 from 10:00 to 12:00 in Zvonimirova street 8 in Hall 13 was held a presentation of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, JSPS). This is a company that operates in 10 states, and the Japanese government through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology stands for it out the most funds of all organizations that work in the field of scientific research.
